COUNTRY ROAD...Take Me Home

Boots and Roots... Back in the Saddle

For a photographer like me, its all about the moment...                         F-8 and Be There

For these fine tuned athletes and parading beauties too, timing is everything... the clock is always ticking

Once again, the world's largest rodeo, the International High School Rodeo Finals was held at the Sandhills Global Event Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Let the Cowboys (and Girls) Ride!

Forever young, My muse is the news... Cowboy boots or feet with no shoes...

Wherever Dahlia Goes

and like the song sings...

nobody knows like me

Dahlia and I recently took a tour of the new Cinnamon Life Hotel in Downtown (Fort area) Colombo, Sri Lanka. My how things have changed! Really impressive but Colombo is dramatically and noticeably different from the 'good old days'. We could have been in any modern big city hotel in Asia. Here are some pix from our little self-guided tour...

Nice, Geshani!

She's almost 10

Happy Birthday, Dahlia!!!

Fishers of Fish...Fishers of Men

Another day on the beach...

You don't know what's waiting until you 'Let down your nets...'

Small catch, big day on the beach at Rekawa,  southern coast of Sri Lanka...

An age old community project, pulling in the nets and distributing the night's catch...

Coming in from a long night out....

'I will make you fishers of men...'

'Look at the birds...Your Heavenly Father feeds them...'

Faith dies last...Keep it alive!

 Perahera People

Navam Perahera, celebrated every February in Colombo during the full moon... a sensual spectacle where musicians, drummers, dancers and elephants, mostly from villages throughout the country, collaborate in the city streets for a mega procession. Sriyani and I found ourselves mixing with the good natured country folk prepping for the big show. What struck me was the simple joy of the people to be in Colombo and a part of the shared event. As you  can see, there is not a grumpy performer in the bunch, all more than willing to  accommodate me by posing for a 'snap'. Street lamp lighting...You've gotta love it. Enjoy the show and these beautiful people!
